School Cdlehddl' aus MARCH 9- Another special assembly today- Sounds of the Air. It was very good. MARCH 10- Donald Triscuit expressed to the Sociology class that he was a wolf. MARCH 11- Mr. Mclnerny sent half of his Senior Science class to study hall. What seemed to be the trouble, Mr. Mclnerny '? ? ? MARCH 12- School was dismissed at 3:15 today because of class basket- ball. Hope the best team wins. MARCH 15- Seniors received their name cards today. They also had a meeting and decided on their class color, flower, and motto. MARCH 16- Mr. Jenkins drew Red Daniels into his confidence and ask- ed him how to go about growing a mustache. MARCH 17- The 8th grade girls' team beat the Senior team 14-13. What's the matter Seniors? MARCH 18- Subscriptions for the Anvil were taken up today. MARCH 19- Mrs. Elmer's home room held an auction in assembly today- Cutch got quite a bargain. Ask him 1 l l MARCH 22- Seniors gave the '7th grade quite a beating in basketball. Oh, Well, 7th grade, don't give up-you've just started. MARCH 23- Assembly on alcohol by Mr. Sadofski. MARCH 24- Today Mr. Mclnerny proved to his Senior Science class how well he liked to hear Arlene Wilson talk. She read 55 minutes. MARCH 25- There seems to be a lot of red noses around school today. Nothing unusual though because French and Latin Club is having their formal initiation. MARCH 26- The War Department sent us some actual pictures of battle scenes. After seeing these pictures I should think there ought to be an increase in the sale of defense bonds and stamps. MARCH 29- There's another peculiar odor floating around school again. It comes from the Chemestry lab. Maybe Ed. Caflisch could tell you the cause. MARCH 30- Everybody is talking about the swell time they had at the Pre-prom dance last night, sponsored by the Juniors. School Cdlehddl' aux FEBRUARY 1- Bee Wilson was sent to a freshman study hall. FEBRUARY 2- Anvil Staff met to make plans for the yearbook. FEBRUARY 3- Amy France dropped defense stamp money in the hall. What a racket! FEBRUARY 4- All the girls are busy getting their boxes ready for the big box social tonight. FEBRUARY 5- Quite a few up-sets in intramural basketball today. Everybody talking about the good time they had at the box social last night. FEBRUARY 8- Girl Reserves received their pins today. FEBRUARY 9- Quite a few Seniors started on their thesis today. FEBRUARY 10- Evelyn Tarbell celebrates her birthday. FEBRUARY 11- Girls basketball team practiced for the first time. FEBRUARY 12- Mrs. Hi1l's home room had assembly and it went over with a bang! Or at least M. B. thought so. FEBRUARY 15- We had a surprise today! School was cold so we were excused from our morning classes to go home. FEBRUARY 16-Red Daniels' flashy sweater caused a riot. FEBRUARY 17- Black Out! No, just a day light practice raid. FEBRUARY 18- Everybody enjoyed the Bohemian G'lass Blowers. They really were interesting! FEBRUARY 19- There's a big commotion today. Everybody is talking about the vacation next week because of rationing. MARCH 1- Waterford journeys here to play a game of basketball. They take us over 45-17. What's the matter boys? MARCH 2- Seniors last practice before they play the Soph. girls in basketball. MARCH 3- Is there a romance between El Rosier and Jim Bengel? MARCH 4- Soph. girls defeated the Senior girls 16-117. What a team that Soph. Class has! MARCH 5- Corry defeated our varsity 62-11. This was our last game of the season for the varsity. MARCH 8- Mr. Sell is taking pictures for our Anvil today. 4642815

School Calendar SMH MARCH 31- Pick Still declared her love for Eli Pratt by asking him to escort her to the Prom. APRIL 1- Bee Wilson breezing around school with an up-sweep. April 2- It's snowing again after all that nice spring weather we had, which we haven't got yet. . APRIL 5- June Lewis Was'nt late this morning. It was a surprise for all of us. APRIL 6- Don Triscuit proved to a certain young Senior lady today that he was a man. APRIL 7- The kids in Senior Science class are burying their heads in their boolrs studying for their six weeks test. Mr. McInerny's tests are whizzes. APRIL 8- Everybody is out taking pictures it's such a nice day. APRIL 9- 7th and 8th grades are having this afternoon off. I wonder how they rate ? 'Z ? 'Z APRIL 12- Another of those swell pre-prom dances tonight! They're lots of fun kids! Miss Durbin and the Junior class deserve the credit. APRIL 13- Don't forget the benefit movie tonight, sponsored by the Lions Club and tickets sold by the Anvil Staff. APRIL 14- El Rosier and Don Triscuit sure fell this noon-but not for each other! Did it hurt, kids ? ? ? ? APRIL 15- Don't forget the cake walk tonight sponsored by the Soph's. APRIL 16- The movie that was shown in assembly this morning ought to sell lots of war bonds. Unless you don't have a heart. APRIL 19- Don Triscuit finally got up the nerve to get a date for the prom. Nice going El l ! I APRIL 20- Everybody is half asleep due to the party la.st night, given in the honor of Neil Clark, by Miss Stub Estes. 'Neil leaves for the Navy thursday. APRIL 21- A railroad detective talked to the Sociology class about his work. It was very interesting. U APRIL 22- Today at 12:30 starts our Easter vacation. '5i30l9
