Assemblies .Muay SEPTEMBER 5, 1942-Our dynamic ex-faculty member Mr. Gilnett in- troduced our new teachers. Some of them nice? Huh Elleanor? OCTOBER 19, 1942-We were entertained by the Slout Players. This was our first special assembly of the year. NOVEMBER 2, 1942-Jack Raymond gave us a very interesting study of reptiles in our second special assembly of the year. An added attrac- tion was Jackie Ryan holding a huge black snake, also Ruth Jane Rupp fainted from obvious reasons. NOVEMBER 10, 1942-A second Gene Autry appeared in our midst on this bright November day. The horse did some amazing tricks and Texas Tommy displayed many thrilling rope feats. JANUARY 8, 1943-Miss Durbin's room put on the first homeroom assem- bly with Red Daniels acting as master of ceremonies. Joe Inman's birthday was this week so they presented him with a very useful gift. JANUARY 15,1943-This assembly showed the ability of the Freshmen and the cleverness of our new teacher, Miss Miller. Wimpy certainly knows his gossip, dosen't he ? ? ? ? JANUARY 22, 1943-Semester exams instead of usual assembly. JANUARY 29, 1943-Miss Brakeman's homeroom showed unusual ability for thinking fast. What happened Neil and Gary? Anyway it was very original with Bugs Burger as master of ceremonies. FEBRUARY 5, 1943-So finally the Union City High School has come out with another Mr. Gilnett in Howard Steves. Corney jokes, get it? We all enjoyed Mr. Anderson's skit on The Man Without a Country.
