at Un1d1s unt11 the mlddle of the Junlor year when he mcved to West Mllford from Pennsylvama When baseball season rolled around D1ck was there wlnnlng a umform and also h1s letter at several dlfferent pos1t1ons ln the team HIS best was catcher H1s semor year he earned h1s letter and really worked hard for the team as catcher Also ln h1s senlor year he won hlS letter ln football as left guard He really hep ped the team qulte a lot and we regret the loss of hxm at graduatlon thls year BILL BAILEY weight, helght not glven Bllly dldnt get to partlclpate ln athletics untl hls sophomore year when he went out for football and won hls letter through much tough work and hard tra1n1ng He really put all he had lnto thl football team and the boys all showed thelr appre CIRUCII for hlm That year he also made the first team ln basketball though he dld not wln hlS let ter He has great hopes of gettmg a letter m base ball thls sprlng BOB DAVIS welght 140 helght 5 8 To the Merchant Marlne we lost Bob Davls who was establlshlng for hlmself a good record ln ath letlcs at Un1d1s He started off ln baseball hls sophomore year and won h1s letter then and ln Junlor year He would have repeated that record thls year had he not left school As tackle ln foot ball he recelved h1s letter hls Junlor and Senlor years Thls year he was co captaln of the fcot season and had to retlre from football HOMER MACKEY welght 152 helght 5 7 Homer entered athlet1cs h1s sophomore year by partlclpatlng ln football although he dld not earn a letter that year he dld ln the two years to follow He proved very helpful to the team those years by filhng h1s posltlon at left end very well He also played two years cf baseball h1s posltlon belng second base All the boys agreed that he played the spot wlth much ab1l1ty Although not success ful ln gettlng a letter 1n basketball he kept plug glng hls last three years DELBERT BAUMAN wenght 156 helght 6 1 We keenly felt the loss of Delbert when he en tered the armed forces as he was one of our best athletes Although he d1d not attend school at Unldls untll hls Junlor year he lmmedlately d1S tlngulshed hlmself by maklng h1s letter ln football both hlS Junlor and Senlor years In basketball he shone on the basketball court by wmnlng hrs letter hlS Junlor year and was maklng good begm nxng h1s Senlor year untll Uncle Sam called hrm to the SEIVICC KENNETH RHODES-welght 142 helght 5 8 Although Kenneth as yet hasn t any letters to h1s credlt he has partlclpated ln all three sports and has won the admlratlon of all the boys play lllg wlth hlm HAVVKER
