A '12, ' 6 7 1 1 ' I h , - , r ,S X A4 ' f W f 1' , A MASS IIISIIIRY In September 1943 the or1g1nal members of the class, mcludmg Joyce P1erce Peggy Knowlton I.41Be10tte Goldme1er Carol Berger Larry Curnrnmgs Dav1d Som mers John Chambers Dxck Banta and Alton De Forest had the1r fzrst taste of a new experience school Under the instructxon of Mrs Cameron we all part1c1pated m rhythm band In second grade Mrs Cole made each of us a shadow plcture whlch we presented to our parents at Chnstmas Brad Gay and Lloyd Sowles Joined our class that year Mrs Sllvernell gave us our first taste of geography xn the th1rd grade and we took several f1eld tr1ps to near by points of interest In fourth grade Mrs Brown was presented w1th the problem of teachmg us to write w1th pen and 1nk We also studied the pnmiuves 1n history class Our f1fth grade was h1gh hghted by a trip to Cooperstown Mxss Freeman brought some of her doll collectzon for us to observe Shlrley Morton Vernon S1sson Emmett Klllmeier and George Ree became members of the class We all felt very proud when for the first t1me we entered our first year on the second Hoor in the s1xth grade Everyone was concerned when Mrs Flem1ng lost In the seventh grade Under Mr Smith we were fortunate to have another class trip This time we journeyed to Albany Also during the year the class made marion ettes and presented the play "A Christmas Carol " Jeanette Goodrich entered the class that year We received our first taste of the dreaded Regents in the eighth grade and Mr Staruck kept us 111 order with his traditional motto "Sit down, sit up and shut up John Scxda became one of the class Mr Clinnick and M1ss Bryson became our class advisors in the Freshman year Freshman initiation although we dreaded the thought of it was braved very well and at the party g1ven us by the Sophomores, all our ill feehngs were forgotten We start ed a treasury to be used for our Semor trip by holding bake sales movies and game nxghts Jxm Heath and Roy Currie joined our ranks The Sophomore year found us with a new advisor Mmss Van Alsty-ne who Jomed forces wxth Mr Clmmck That year we had the pleasure of initiatmg the Freshmen. A "Sa1nt Patrick's Dance" and a Woodhull Boys' dance were also held Thxs year brought us Charlyn Reinfurt Our Jun1or year seemed to be very prosperous Mr Clinmck and Miss Nelson our advisors, directed the Jumor Play, "Spooks and Spasms " which prov1ded a substant1al addxtion to our fmanczal records The arnval of our class rings made us really feel lrke full fledged hlgh school students John Chambers and Charlyn Reinfurt were crowned Kang and Queen of our very successful Junior Prom Joyce P1erce Peg gy Knowlton Brad Gay and J1m Heath were the attendants It seems almost lI'!'lp08Blb18, but we have finally reached the top -Seniors. This year we presented the play "I-Iessie of the Hills." Two weeks of the year found us busy selling subscriptions. Th1s also added greatly to our treasury. The largest project of the year was bunlding the yearbook but with much work and cooperation, a f1ne book was produced at whxch we shall all look back with much pride.
