Uutward bound the class of '28 pauses to bid farewell to Alma Mater. VVe are leaving behind four years of intense activity, four energetic and adventurous and happy years, years which have proved the strength of our aims and established our heroes. The chaos of our Freshman year soon passed. The Seniors gave us a Valentine Party and the school accepted us. VVe had become a part of the group, our members took up their duties in all phases of school life. Heretofore mysteries became commonplace. The second year our class organized with Scott Harrisoii as Presi- dent. A party was held in the Gym. The stars of Edwin Moody, Jim Ronald, Paul Williams, Paul jones, Deb Huff, Bob Maurer, and Bill I-Iaverfield began to rise on the athletic horizon. As Juniors, our destiny had begun to work out itself. It was a dramatic colorful year. Jimmy Ronalds was chosen foot-ball captain. Scott Harrison was again elected president. The holidays brought us a joyous Christmas Party in the Gym. The Junior-Senior Banquet Was the climax to a series of brilliant memories. The marked success of the class duirng the past year has been largely due to the efforts of the President, William Haverfield. Ruth Fowler, Vice-President and Martha VVright, Secretary-Treasurer have been able assistants. We entertained the Freshmen at a Hallowe'en Party. Our class parties over, we are awaiting the last entertainments of our High School Life. First in school spirit though not in numbers the seventy-two have been leaders and loyal backers of the Black and Gold for four busy years. VVhatever fate holds for us, we will always remember the pleasant days at U. H. S. Edith H emlzorne. i 2 7
