SWJ Anibal Padilla Maintenance Material Control Officer LCPO Production Control Chief AIMD C The Sailors and Marines of the Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Qepartment are generally known for keeping aircraft in top shape, but they play a much larger role in ensuring Tarawas mission accomplishment. M - The Management Division controls the entire department and includes the Maintenance Officer and staff. Among the things IM1 is responsible for is the administration and control of more than S25 million in support equipment assets. M - The Airframes Division conducts intermediate maintenance on aircraft systems, including flight control surfaces, fuselages, tires and wheels, hydraulic systems and power plants. IM2 also takes care of aircrew survival gear and analyzes engine oil. M - The Avionics and Calibration Division conducts intermediate maintenance on a number of systems, including aircraft avionics, communication, navigation, multifunction display systems, electrical wiring and lighting systems, calibration, circuit cars and Armament Weapons Support Equipment. M - The Support Equipment Division is responsible for maintenance and repair of all support and material handling equipment. The personnel of IM4 ensure that all fire fighting and towing equipment required to move supplies, weapons and ammunition is fully operational on a moment s notice. ' V A q A USS Tarawa 13
