They represent one ofthe many reasons why MONTEREY has been gone pn' so long: ensuring the safety of our children and families. MONTEREY traveled 45, 201 nautical miles since we departed Mayport last August l slightly more than twice around the Earth at the equatorj. While we were gone we made 17017 visits to Italy six times, Greece twice, and once to Dirkey - not exactly the ideal pleasure cruise. But seeing my wU'e on the pier when we retumed was one of my happiest moments. I give thanksfor myfamily and my coun- try- and to have finished this book. I hope you have enjoyed it.
