M--fl wwe, w ENTERPRISE is proud to hail from great coastal cities, San Francisco, Oakland, Alameda and the Bay Area. The naval tradition here goes back to the earliest days of our nation's beginnings and the annual week-long celebration provides the perfect opportunity for the local residents and Navy communities to get together and show their mutual appreciation. On Saturday, October 12, 1985, ENTERPRISE led a 14-ship fleet,' of mainly Navy ships beneath the Golden Gate Bridge as Mayor Diane Feinstein, Admiral James A. Lyons, Commander in Chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, a host of VIPS and the general public crowded the San Francisco Bay waterfront to greet the ships. If that wasn't enough, the Blue Angels sent eyes sky- ward as they demonstrated Navy precision aerobatic manuevering. The rest of the week was filled with luncheons, parties, athletic events, open houses aboard Navy vessels, a fire- works display and the Navy Birthday Ball at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
