From an hour before school in the morning until hours after school in the evening, the typewriters are kept clatter- ing as they turn out copy for the current week's paper: the mess of clippings and flapping galley proofs are organized for page makeups: heated discussions wage: assignments and orders are given: and reporters and staff writers issue forth in quest of news and interviews. Combining the practical experience of making up and getting out a weekly paper with the training received in the rules and technique of journalistic writ- ing, the members of the journalism class, with Miss Hield as teacher and advisor, really get something out of the course. The Broadcaster carries considerable advertising which very nearly renders it self supporting. The soliciting and mak ing up of ads falls to the lot of the enter- prising business managers.
