Titan Wrestling reached a new peak this year breaking the old school record for the most wins in a season. The Titan Grapplers spotted an 11—4 seasonal record. The old record was 10 wins which was held by the 1984 wrestl- ing team. The season started out at the Tri— County tournament held at Juniata Valley. The Titans had three first place finishers: John Husick, Scott Husick, and Joe Hall. Jr. High Titans Close 6-10 Season Tussey Mountain finished its boys junior high basketball season with a 38—28 loss at Forbes Road Tuesday afternoon. The Titans went 6—10 under Coach Jim Snyder. Forbes Road led 16-13 at halftime and outscored Tussey 22—15 in the se- cond half. The Titans had won three of their previous four outings, marred only by a 44—38 loss to Forbes Road Feb. 16 in Saxton. Young Tussey Football by Rob Snare, John Horton, Mike Swope The Titans had a good attitude despite struggling through a losing season. The Titans finished the season with a record of 1-9. The season began with a 7-0 loss against Mount Union. Rob Snare led the offense with 75 yards rushing. Five fumbles were the key to the 27-0 loss to Glendale. Tussey could not capitalize on three chances to score in- side Viking territory. Northern Bedford trimmed Tussey through the air in the 34-0 defeat. Tony Angelo led the offense with over 100 yards rushing. Everett outran Tussey in the 28-12 loss. John Smith scored 2 touchdowns. Titans couldn’t take advantage of 3 fumbles inside North Star’s territory in the fifth game of the season. Fred Ar- nold scored the Titan’s only touchdown on an 8 yard pass from Chris Kuhns. Tussey’s defense halted Chestnut Ridge in a 9-6 loss. The hard-hitting game was led by Rob Snare scoring a one yard dive up the middle. Titans suprised critics in the 12-0 win over Claysburg. The Tussey defense held the Bulldogs to a mere 49 yards total offense.
