Library Uperates Under New System SENIORS ANNE FAIRCLOTH and Mack Brown are taking advantage of research materials, which are just a part of the excellent facilities of the library available to our students. Where can a student find information on anything from aviation to Zoology? Where can one go back- wards through the door of history to visit the cave of a Neantherthal man or go forward to view an imaginary city on Mars in the year 3204? The school library is the place, of course. Our library is well-staffecl with competent librarians, always ready to help the struggling student. The library is working under a new, more efficient system this year: The main room is a study hall where the reference books are kept. The east study hall serves as a reading room and contains fiction books. MRS. EVELYN DARDEN, University of Alabama, B.S., L.S., Librarian. MRS. ADNA HOWARD, Uni- versity of Alabama, B.S., M.A., L.S., Librarian, Sponsor of Library Assistants. MRS. MARYELLA TERRILL, Bethel College, B.A., University of Ala- bama, M.A., Librarian. MRS. HOWARD, OUR head librarian, helps several students check books in and out and pay fines on over- due Hooks. For entertainment and news, students at the table in the foreground read newspapers from the li- brary's collection of periodicals. Current issues of sev- eral popular magazines are kept in the reading room. 251 l
