Varied Facets 0 Uur Li e The Serious Side As Well As The Light...Fun but Also Study Wmtm 'Wg-L MJ BECKY RHODES SIGNS the official roll kept by Amelia Kyle, secretary, during a National Honor Society induction. Just as adult citizens of Tuscaloosa are well-rounded individuals, so are the future citizens who populate our school. Crowds of boys and girls in our once spacious halls are a sure sign of an ever-growing city. ln a constant hub of activity, Tuscaloosa teen- agers are equally as fun-loving as any gen- eration with their myriad modes of recrea- tion. Parades, patriotism, concerts-all are included in our T. H. S. band life. ln the intellectual field, scholars follow the pace of the community through the ritual of the Honor Society. indeed, T. H. S. is a mirror which reflects the Tuscaloosa way of life- a mirror which reflects the hopes and am- bitions of a progressive city. WHEN DOES THIS thing stop? These T. H. S. students might well ask this as they pay a visit to the West Alabama Fair. l8l

AS TUSCALOOSA lS an outstanding city in Alabama, so Tuscaloosa High students are winners in the state and national affairs. Pete Clark and Ralph Hayden, staff members of our newspaper accept the Alabama High School Press Association award for the best high school newspaper in the state, the BEAR FACTS. Students Bring Honor to City and School AGAINST THE BACKGROUND of our national capitol are H. Pettus Randall and Alabama Congressman Armisteacl Selden. In the summer of 1962, Pettus, a T.H.S. student, was elected president of two national organizations: Bays' State, an American Legion Club, and Key Club, a Kiwanis affiliate. Seldom does a high school student achieve such national recognition. WM W
