The school welcomes baclr "Swede" after three years service in the armed forces. Despite green material Kendall molded a team of which the students and people of Tuscaloosa were proud. Assisting Ken- dall was Coach George Hecht, former University of Alabama football star. HAMILTON The opening game, between Tuscaloosa and the Hamilton High Aggies, was played to a O-O deadlock. The game was not offensively outstanding. Both teams played on even terms throughout the entire game. The highlights of the game were power drives of fullback Danny O'Neal and the booming punts of J. C. Redding. 'l'Eillll The whole blooming team! HOLT The second game, between the Black Bears and Holt, proved to be a thrill from the start to the finish. Each team scored twice and each team missed the extra points. Tuscaloosa gained their other two points on a safety as Waldrop broke through the line and smeared the runner behind his own goal. LANIER Nearly the entire student body traveled to Mont- gomery to see an under-dog Black Bear team fall to the Poets. The Poets showed great power, scoring thirty points to the Bears' none. Showing a sudden surge of power, Tuscalcnsa finally pushed over a touchdown in the last period. MURPHY Murphy High of Mobile overcame the Bears by a score of 32-6. This game was closer than the score indicated, Murphy capitalizing on breaks. BIBB The Black Bears beat Bibb County, l3-O, on November 8th, this being the second win of the season.
