GERTRUDE MILLER Trudy She eateth not the bread of idlenesrf' Trudy was a member of the basketball team for four years and the Art Club for three years. She was a member of the Girls' Glee Club for three years being secretary her senior year. She belonged to the Home Economics Club her freshman year. Trudy was a member of the Community Service Club for three years and the tumbling team for two years. She was also one of our snappiest cheerleaders. Trudy played the part of Wilson, the maid in the senior play, The Barretts of Wimpole Street. ROSEMARY THERESA MURPHY Murph God doe: not mearure ur by inches. Murph was a member of the Home Economics Club her freshman year. She was active in the Art Club for two years and in the Community Service Club for three years. She sang with the Girls' Glee Club for two years and was a member of the History Club her senior year. Murph ushered at the Junior Prom and was also in charge of properties for our senior play, The Barretts of Wimpole Street. PHYLLIS ANN NELSON Nellie She who ha: a thourund friends has not 4 friend to spare. Phyllis was one of those snappy cheerleaders for four years and became captain her senior year. In the Armistice Day Play she portrayed Rhonda in Our Miss Brooks. She was also a typist on the Netop and Yearbook Staffs. Phyllis was active in various clubs including the Art, History, and Community Service and was Librarian of the Girls' Glee Club. She was a tumbler and played basketball for four years as well as Intramural basket- ball. Besides these activities she was an usher at the junior Prom and was Chairman of the refreshment committee at the Sophomore Social. Nellie was on the Make-up Com- mittee for our Senior Play The Barretts of Wimpole Street. MARY CATHERINE O'HARA Sandy An ounce of dircretion ir worth a pound of wit. Mary ushered at the junior Prom and was on various dance committees. She por- trayed Virginia in And Came The Spring. She was was also a member of the History Club and the Community Service Club. During her senior year, Mary was on the Netop and Yearbook Staffs. She also was in charge of the costumes for our Senior Play, The Barretts of Wimpole Street. 29

JOSEPH MALINOWSKI Joe An able mart who shows his spirit by gentle words and resolute ideas. Joe found it necessary to work throughout high school, but nevertheless found time to play baseball for three years and basketball for one year. ELLIOT CLINTON MARKHAM Elly The mildest manner with the bravest mind. Elliot went out for basketball for two years and football for one year. He was a mem- ber of the Boys' Glee Club for three years and was librarian in his senior year. He was an alternate for Junior Prize Speaking and a member of the History Club for one year. He played the part of the father in the play And Came The Spring, and the part of Captain Cook in the senior play, The Barretts of Wimpole Street. DEAN MATHERSON Deanihu Norte so near the gods as he who shows kindness. Dean worked all through high school and thus had little time for extra curricular activities, though he ushered at the Junior Prom and the Freshman Hop. JEANETTE JEAN MAGDYCZ Jeannie Kindness is the sunshine in which virtue grows. Jeannie was a member of the Art Club, History Club, Community Service Club, and was on the nominating committee in her junior year. She played basketball for four years and inrramurals for three years. 28

FERDINAND MICHAEL OLCHOWSKI Freddie With hir eyet upon a distant :tar Fred we. know will travel far. Freddie was a member of the band for four years, being student director during his senior year. Moreover, he was a member of the Swingsters, orchestra, and Boys' Glee Club. He displayed his acting ability in junior Prize Speaking and by portraying Mr. Wadsworth in Our Miss Brooks. Fred was an usher at the junior Prom as well as being on the Netop and Yearbook Staffs. Besides this, Freddie was alsoactive in the French, History, and Art Clubs. Freddie played the part of Doctor Ford Waterlow in our Senior Play, The Barretts of Wimpole Street. JOHN PALLASH Johnie An honert man without pleats. Johnie , a very quiet boy, didn't take part in any school activities. However, his patience and determination cannot go unnoticed. So johnie congratulations, and we may all take a lesson from your sheer pluck and good will. ROY PAULIN Star Alway.t a .fmile on hi: face There'x fmt no one to take his place. Roy was a member of our football team for two years and he was also in the Art Club and the French Club. JEAN PHILLIPS Jeanie The one who rarely .upeaht it always liftened to. Jeanie has been a member of the French Club, Glee Club, Community Service Club, and the Home Economics Club. She was a Bank Day Cashier for two years and secretary to Miss Little. She was also on the class ring committee her sophomore year. 30
