Text from Pages 1 - 216 of the 1977 volume:

1977 will always be a special year for the Turner County High football team. The REBELS had an undefeated season and went on to win the Class A State Championship. REBELS, we’re proud of you! This year brought many unexpected pleasures such as the snow in January. It's unusual for snow in Turner County, but it was greatly welcomed. Students stayed out of school for 8 days because of the energy shortage, but they were made up. Remem- ber those extended days! Students of TCHS not only learn curricular subjects, but they also learn how to have fun in and out of class. Club participation is encouraged and each student who becomes involved is greatly bene- fited . Smiles show the good times students of TCHS enjoyed. Some things never change. We run to lunch and take it easy in class if we can. The quarter system offered new courses. We finally have girls' P.E., and of course, tennis is fantastically popular. This year the annual is dedicated to a person who has influenced the lives and education of many students in the past and is continuing to do so today. This man is well-liked by students and joins in with them in their laughter. Whether teaching an English class or taking pictures for the annual, his sense of humor shines through. What better person to dedicate the 1977 Rebel annual to than the annual advisor himself, because without him a yearbook would not be possible. Thank you, Mr. Charles Crumbley. Superintendent - W. G.
