This years Tribe group was indeed enthusiastic, they showed their spirit by painting signs, decorating the stadium, and putting up our teepee. The California Scholarship Federation K CSF l is an honors society for high school students who have at least 3 A's and a B lwith no Dsl in the academic subjects. Membership is renewed every semester by the student. Upon graduation, students with 5 semesters of membership receive a gold seal on their diploma and a gold CSF pin. Our chapter has been active in fundraisers and homecoming events. CSF conducted the ASB and class elections as a service to the school. This year CSFE First Semester President was Darren Dutto and Vice- President was Nicki Elliott. Chapter Sponsor was Mr. Stephen Lawton. MOCK TRIAL The Mock Trial team participates in county and state wide competition among high schools in the presentation ofa criminal case. Students portray each ofthe principals in the cast of courtroom characters: attorneys, witnesses, bailiff clerk. The cases include pre-trial motions and the criminal trial itself. ln the past three years, Tulare Unions teams have won the county-wide competition twice and gone on to represent Tulare County in the State Finals in Sacramento. This year, as in the last two years, Tulare Union Helded two teams with over sixty students involved. CSF A IWOCK TRIAL 69

Fu ture Farm ers of Am erica The Tulare Union FF.A. helps students with the development of leadership skills as Well as learning and understanding the various areas of production agriculture tsuch as Livestock, Ag. Mechanics, Ornamental Horticulture, and Work experiencej. They educationally motivate students to excell and achieve high academic standards through participation and involvement in the many different activities that are in F.F.A. These activities include judging teams, public speaking, becoming an ofhcer, raising and showing animals at fairs, community service and recreational activities. By becoming involved in these various activities, members develop understanding of responsibility and have the opportunity to travel to many 'fferent areas of our state and nation. The Tulare Union d1 F.F.A. chapter provides all students with the opportunity to develop these basic agricultural skills that will help them face the daily challenges of lite.
