GRADUATE SCHGOL - UNIVER ITY COLLEGE Graduate work at Tulane began in 1883, Courses of study leading to the degrees of Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master of Fine Arts, and Doctor of Philosophy are now of- fered. Admission to the Graduate School usually depends upon a better than average record in undergraduate school. Steady emphasis is placed upon research training. University College is the evening and adult education di- vision of Tulane University. It offers degrees in the fields of President DeYoung and Dean Dyer of University College President Bailin and Dean Lumiansky of Graduate School liberal arts, commerce, medical technology and nursing. It also offers introductory courses in the Helds of engineering and architecture. The faculty is made up of members of the various University faculties plus lecturers from the community outside the University. Spring Training NEWCOMB ALUMNAE A S S O C I A T I O N The Newcomb Alumnae Association composed oi' all graduates and former students, is a means of chan- neling loyalties to Newcomb. Its office is housed in the Tulane Alunmi House where files and pertinent infor- mation are kept. Made up of a national group of ofii- cers and clubs located in leading cities in the United States, its activities include thousands of women and cover a wide range of interests. Its two national meetings yearly are held, one at Homecoming and the other at Commencement time. Its purpose is to fill college needs when they arise, to fos- ter alumnae activities, and to serve as a tie between future, present, and past students and the college fac- ulty and administrators.
