Transforming the old Senior Office on the first floor of the Main Building into the sci- ence office was a major project for the Science Department. Under the direction of Mr. Cordon Morphew, new head of the depart- ment, this operation included the transferring of desks and filing cabinets to the room. The office collected magazines and other materials for availability to science teachers. Since Tucson High sponsored no local sci- ence fair this year, students worked individu- ally to create projects meeting standards of the Southern Arizona Regional Science Fair. Those entering the competition asked teachers for approval before submitting entries.
