He was here earlier in his career. He did a great job then, and is doing a great job now. He likes this school and is glad to be back, and we all hope he stays. ' N l T fy! 4 14 f Main Office The main office consisted of three sec- retaries, Charlene Smith, Wilma Hill, Ruth Fiedler. It also has several proctors. Wilma Hill takes care of enrollment, and sched- ule changes. Ruth Fiedler takes care of the finances. Charlene takes care of typing and many other things. Mrs. Primm was in charge of attendance in Division l. She also worked hard typing and answering the telephone throughout the day. She also helped psychology students by filling out forms and arranging as lx I H meetings with the students Mr. Shriner was serving his 10th year at Truesdell. He was in charge of arranging, observ ing, and guiding the parent teacher conferences. He also selected a staff of instructors to aid the students having the conferences. Division I was in charge of all Special Education students. Mr. Horn ipictured abovel was in charge of issuing and helping students with locker problems. Being vice-principal was also a big part of security at lunchtime. He also played a big part in communicating with G T. C. iGifted, Talented, and Creativel. division 2 Mrs. Tenbrook ipictured at the right! is the secretary in division 2. Division 2 is in charge of people with the last names that begin with the letters A through K. She is in charge of atten- dance. Mr. Minter ipictured below! is the counselor in Division 2, He helped students with schedule and with special problems. We must admit that the beginning of the school year is the busiest time for her, because that was when we made all kinds of schedule changes. Now that, linked with our private counseling created a unique year for her, THANKS! Mrs. Linda Milsap is and has been the SeCretary in division 3 for a number of years now. She works with the assistant principle Mr. Haught, together they check students daily and hourly records. The students had an evening to enjoy such things as the Roller Coaster, Arcade, Wacky Shack and many other rides and game boothes. Freshman Sanders Stanley Schibbelhut Alvin Schmidt Rodney Schubert Markel Schwilling Cynthia Scott Dwight Scott Sonya 'Seals Karen Seglem Kraig Seitz Brenda Seiwert lane Serna lessica President Carter informed the Russians that if they did not recall troops from Afghanistan by Feb. 20th, he would ask the U.S. Olympic Committe to boycott the summer games in Moscow in july. The Olympic Committe later stated that it would comply with President Carter's request to boycott the summer games. November 2nd, 1979 the U.S. Embassy was overrun by Iranian students who were angered by the U.S. accepting the deposed Shah of Iran for medical treatment, lt was first thought that 50 hostages were there. It was later discovered that six members of the Embassy Staff were smuggled out of Iran by the Canadian government Negotations for the release of the captives continued, and it was thought that they would be released as soon as a committee to investigate the Shah's activities was formed. It was later learned, however, that they wouldn't be released until the committee had completed the investigation. The contest was between the defending champions, the Pittsburg Steelers and the N.F.C. champions, the Las Angeles Rams. The Steelers were favored by a large margin, but during the first three quarters the Rams were playing as good as the Steelers. The first quarter the Steelers scored first with a Matt Bahr field goal. But the Rams struck back on their next posession to lead seven-three. The second quarter the Rams led most of the way and at the end of the first half it was thirteen-ten in favor of the Rams. The second half began with the Steelers scoring a touchdown for a seventeen-thirteen lead. The Rams battled back to score a touchdown but Frank Corral, the place kicker for the Rams missed the extra point and it remained nineteen-seventeen. ln the fourth quarter Pittsburg's Terry Brad- shaw threw two touchdown passes as the Steelers coasted to a 31-19 victo- ry. Mike Coldiron won a gold medal in bowling. 2,000 special stu- dents from all over Kansas participated at Salina, Kansas.
