TRUCKEE has been awarded the E for excellence in Engineering for the period of 1 July 1969 to 30 June 1970. During the award period, TRUCKEE completed an ex- tensive shipyard overhaul, three weeks of intensive refresher training at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and progressed well into the present deployment with the Sixth Fleet. The shipyard overhaul was completed in a four month period, which is considerably less than normal, and all of the ship's operational commitments were met with an exceptional degree of engineering readiness and reliability.
