1973 Homecoming More Memories President Ralph Adams crowned Brenda Thurmond as TSU ' s 1973 Homecoming Queen during pre-game ceremonies of the TSU-Florence State football game. Her attendants were Debbie Tatum, Debbie Walker, and Christy Arrington. At the Alumni Luncheon, prior to the football game, George M. Hudson, Director of the Division of Reha- bilitation and Crippled Children with the State Depart- ment of Education was honored as Alumnus of the Year in the field of business and education, and Rex M. Mixson, Superintendent of the Pensacola, Fla. Dis- trict of the United Methodist Church ' s Alabama-West Florida Conference was honored as Alumnus of the Year in field of professionalism. Plaques were presented by Rev. C.E. Bradley and Mr. Virgil Collins, (pictured below.)
