After a month of practice they traveled to Demopolis to face Livingston and gave them a sound 25-6 licking. The Victorious Red Wave v as led by Sonny Hendrix and Bobby Walker, the entire line performed well. Though the Red Waves were off to a good start with a team with a good starting eleven, and an inexperienced bench, injuries and lack of experience caught up, and slowed them down. The Red Wave finished the season with a 2-6 record. They should do a lot better next season with only six losses through graduation. The Red Wave showed spirit all through the season and Coach Clipson and his assignments must be congratulated for a job well done. Bernie Boyd and Coach Serfustini As December rolled around the bouncing of basketballs on the hard- wood renninded us that the cage sport had begun. Though the boys had been hard at work for over a month few of us realized that it was cage time once again. The Red Wave opened the season by edging Florence 74-71 in a much heated contest. A few days later Troy proved its victory was no flunk, as they trounced Marion 1 01 -56. The Red Wave team, under the able guidance of Coach Leonard Serfustini, went through the season gaining respect and came up with a bid to NIAA. As the season came to a close it found the Red Wave with an 18-7 record. During this course two records fell. Billy Strickland hit 33 against St. Bernard for points in one game record, and Dean Craig set the sea- son scoring record, breaking Jerry Tillman ' s record of 320 points. The team showed fine spirit and team work. Much credit must be given to Serf and his boys.
