For the last two years the College has turned out fine teams and have sent out such stars as Tom Drake, hurler for the Cleveland Indians, Tex Calloway and Brick Owens of the Alabama-Florida League and Cliff Meredith of the Pepperell Club. The successful playing against such clubs as Alabama, Auburn, Troy, Oglethorpe and Birmingham-Southern is another factor to show the progressive ways of S. T. C. Baseball. This year brings back such players as Dean, Bynum, James, Martin, Griffin, Johnson, Cook, Arnold and others. The freshman group will send in three distinct stars in the per- sons of Busby of Montgomery, Quimby of Atmore, and Tommy Liles, sensational hrst baseman of Brewton. With a world of Hne material and a worthy schedule, the year of 1937 seems to be the brightest one of all for S. T. C. baseball. TENNIS S. T. C. is proud to boast four fine tennis courts and glad to know that they supply adequate space for all young tennis enthusiasts of the college. Although the courts seem quite deserted during the winter months, they are one of the busiest sectors of the school during the spring and summer months. In the most recent tennis tournament, Tommy Liles of Brewton was the victor in the men's singles while Edith Cox of Montgomery was winner of the girls' singles. Here is to a prosperous spring for tennis. PHYSICAL AND HEALTH EDUCATION In the Physical Education courses by Mr. Farmer and Miss Forrester, the students are given the benehts of many other sports such as volley ball, basket ball, speed ball, field hockey and tumbling. Speed ball and tumbling have received a great amount of interest and they are now considered fine sports by many students. We are glad to state that S. T. C. is becoming interested in Track and we hope to have a team to represent the school in inter-collegiate meets in the near future.
