The I9 55
The class of 1956 is very happy to dedicate this year's "Trojan" to our
two teachers, Mrs, Inez Curry and Mrs. Bonnie Kendall.
Mrs. Curry came here in 1955, and has helped direct our plays, our an-
nual, and has been a wonderful guide to everyone,
As a class, we wish to express our sincere gratitude for the many splendid
things she has done. The hours she has spent with us will long be remembered
throughout our years to come,
Mrs, Kendall entered our school in 1954, and has directed our annual and
newspaper staff. She has been a loyal friend and helper to all the high school
Our class feels honored to have two such devoted sponsors and we wish to
express our thanks.

SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY
It was Aprilg the days were warm, but very short for the Seniors, I flris Cogarj
was worried about the future for usp so I decided to send for a gypsy fortune-
teller to read my tea leaves, This is what she saw: a black leaf and in it
were Grace and Nelson Depoy, living in a well-established neighborhood.
Then a curled up leaf appeared bearing Iris Metheney as a hairdresser in the
Dave Miller Shoppe. Suddenly a red leaf swirled holding Pat Rowley knitting
and petting her kittens, Earlene Knotts, Nora Parsons, and Dessie Nichols
were sitting on a green leaf listening to a lecturer at O.U. Then a navy-blue
leaf sailed by with Charles Taylor and Jeff Massie as Admirals on the U. S. S.
OCEANLINER, Pat Starkey and Mary Lou Snodgrass as comedians on the Bob
Hope Show, occupied a very gay leaf, An angry leaf seemed to be fighting
something - Ronnie Williams, a bachelor in Beverly Hills, shoving the women
away from him. A brown leaf appeared with Marion Smith, Patty Murphy,
Don Jeffers and Dan Bernard - all married with each at the head of a happy
household. A yellow leaf bounced against the cup and surely enough there
were Dick Holbert and Bob Pierce in the ring with Morlin Dobbs as referee.
A white leaf batted its way through till I saw Jim Wright playing baseball in the
World Series. A thin crinkly leaf, brought Tom Taylor and Lowell Marshall,
dancing instructors at an Arthur Murray Studio. All these leaves sank into the
brown tea, one leaf remainedg on it I sat behind a desk as a lawyer,
These leaves stand for health, wealth, and prosperity for America's leaders.

SENIOR CLASS HISTORY
In September, 1952, forty freshmen entered the Troy High School to begin their careers
The class elected Donna Gillian as President. Our advisors were Mrs, Wines and Mr,
Stout. That year we held a weiner roast and a skating party.
In 1953, we returned with thirty-four pupils, We elected Earlene Knotts as President.
Our advisor that year was Mr, Frisby. We all took an active part in Glee Club, FFA,
FHA and basketball. One of the highlights that year was fixing a Fun Fodder House for
the Carnival, Charles Taylor and Mary Snodgrass were our King and Queen. Evelyn
Motter was elected Cheerleader that year,
In 1954, we returned for our Junior year. Again we lowered our numbers to twenty-
five, but not for long, as we gained four new membersg Tom Taylor, Pat Rowley,
Marian Smith, and Grace Depoy. We elected Charles Taylor as President. Our
advisor this year was Mrs, Kendall, We received our class rings early and worked
hard on the Carnival. The King and Queen were Evelyn Motter and Tom Taylor,
Our class put on our Junior play, "The Ghose House. 'Toward the end of the year we
gave the Seniors a skating party and one hundred dollars toward their Senior trip. Two
Junior girls, Erma Bailey and Evelyn Motter, were elected cheerleaders. On January
20, 1955, Raynol Rossler, one of our classmates, was killedin an accident.
In 1955, twenty-four pupils entered as dignified Seniors, but we soon lost two of themg
Dale Welsh and David Gorrell. Then one day we saw a handsome lad wandering
around the halls, Morlin Dobbs, who stayed with us. Our class worked very hard to
raise money for our Senior trip. We sold necklaces, pins, stationery and put on "The
Funny Brats, " We elected Jeff Massie as President and our advisor was Mrs, Currey.
Our King and Queen elected were Marian Smith and Charles Taylor. Pat Rowley, was
elected cheerleader. The boys who played on the varsity basketball team were:
Charles Taylor, Dick Holbert, and Ronnie Williams,
As a class, we are sad to leave the halls of Troy High School. We appreciate the guid-
ance our teachers and principal have given us through our years here.
