To keep up with the expansion the math and science departments continue to offer the most modern approaches to the subjects. The biology classes this year began using a course of study drawn up by the Biological Sciences Study Committee. The basis of this is the emphasis upon understanding 'of the basic principles and ideas rather than mere memoriza- tion of facts. In chemistry lab, the students learned to use smaller quantities of substances. Freshman science continued giving an all-over approach to all sciences, while physics was taught by the same modern methods that have been used.
