Although at one time he wanted to be a physician, Charles Secoy is happy in his present work as Principal of the High School and Supervisor of Secondary Education. The little-seen Board of Education meets only once a month, yet its decisions have far reaching effects upon the entire Troy school system. The duties of the board, whose members are officers of the State of Ohio, are outlined by the state, including managing all schools in the district, prescribing courses of study for the various levels, and seeing that necessary books, lunches, and transportation are provided. The board also has the often difficult task of antici- pating and preparing for increases in school enrollment. School responsibility originates in the citi- zens, goes through the board to the Superin- tendent, Mr. Jeffers, who is in charge of the administration of the entire system. Assisting him is Mr. Houck. The school administration is further divided into Elementary education, headed by Mr. Routson, and Secondary educa- tion, Whose director is Mr. Secoy. 'f All experiences involving pupils are interesting to Lee Mitchell, who besides being Dean of Boys teaches electricity and advises the Industrial Arts club.
