We TirsT came TogeTher aT Van Cleve Prep,
To us iT was more Than our very TirsT sTep
lnTo The world wiTh banners Turled.
We worked and sTudied our Ohio T-lisT.,
AT The end oT The year we made a very long lisT
For Treshman year-no cheer here.
Should we Take Espanol or LaTin l,
College Prep or home ec? Done!
The decision's made Tor 9Th grade.
SepTernber second was The TaTeTul day,
We enTered school as green as hay,
On ThaT daTe in '58,
Now, Tour years laTer we embark
On a long, rough iourney, noT a lark,
NoT cool like high school.
BeTore we leave, remember Then
The Things we did way back when.
Do you suppose ThaT our pasT will lasT?
lnTo. Science all oT a sudden,
Vesper pushed The panic buTTon.
BuT enough oT ranTrums and TanTrums.
Freshman year we were naive.
We soon changed ThaT To ioie de vivre.
Anyone have a bug neT To leT?
As sophs, we were very darium,
Remember when Vaughn dove in The aquarium?
And Tor a whopper-remember Carla's grasshoppers?
ThaT was The year Bill l-lall came,
And sTarTed The SaTanics ThaT broughT him Tame,
A good drum maior, Too, we'll wager.
We puT Finn and ScarTT on varsiTy,
Chose Lynn, Mary and Mikie To cheer sans sparsiTy,
And Three oT our beTTermen lRon, Ned, Ricel were TooTball leTTermen.
ThaT was The summer we learned To drive.
lT's almosT amazing ThaT we're sTill alive.
lT you don'T believe ThaT, ask Mikie, Lynn and Mary PaT.
We ioyTully spenT a summer wiThouT bugs,
BuT how did The gleesome Threesome geT a Tireplug?
Ob and Shule and Jack were made To puT iT back.
Junior year meanT chemisTry,
Especially Tor The broThers Curie.
Remember Mr. Farrell wiTh his hand in The barrel?
Crash McClure rode once more.
For burning Jim J's panTs, Losh saw The door.
ls iT hard To guess why Mr. Houck leTT?
We'll all remember Mr. WesT,
And The Troiannaires ThaT he loved besT.
ThaT was The lasT year Tor The group we loved To hear.
We knew ThaT we had TalenT beTore
BuT The TruTh came ouT wiTh Oblinger's pinaTore.
McClure sure buTTered up BuTTercup.
Toward spring we worked on The really big dance.
The "lsland Holiday" gave us our chance
To keep The secreT buT we leaked iT.
Then our TirsT Senior Chapel and we saw Them leave.
The new Senior Class l I T Who had Time To grieve?
Down wiTh '62 and up wiTh The new!
Our summer was sane, our laughs were hearTy,
Then There came our TirsT Senior parTy.
We were aT lasT TogeTher a class.
WiTh Lowell on Council and John aT The helm
And Don and Jean and Sandy, well
Our oTTicers-l'm aT loss Tor words.
Working concessions sure made money.
This annual will deTiniTely be a honey.
BUT we looked mighTy Torlorn wiThouT bags Tor popcorn
"School SpiriT!" They said, "Cheer aT The games!"
Who oTTers To help? Why, Mary Jane.
And This is how we have Block-T now.
ATTer ChrisTmas and New Year's Evening,
We began To Think abouT leaving.
We'll shed a Tear Tor our senior year.
AbouT ThaT Time we won The MVL
ln The courT our boys ToughT like Troians.
U.D, was a iumpin' ioinT when we beaT FairmonT by only one poinT.
NexT on The lisT was The Senior Play.
l-low can we ever TorgeT-Jon, Lana, John, Sue, STeve
Janie, PaT, Tom, Don, Charlie, Jim, Elaine, Bill, JoAnn
Mary Jane, Deans, Tom, Jim, Mike, Karen, Judy, John,
Carla, MarTha, Sue, Julia, Claudia, RuThie, Paul, Don, Eldon,
Marcy, Mike, Barb, EThel, Doranne, Tony, GareTh, Bev
Even To This day,
And a record This Tor The longesT kiss
And abouT a monTh aTTer The play,
We began plans Tor governmenT day.
We had a penchanT Tor convenTions.
The parTies were S.T-l.A.P.E. and V.l.P
And The voTers invesTed in prosperiTy.
ThirTeen To Tour-could They ask Tor more?
In spring sporTs This year we have The M.V.L.
ln golT and Tennis-well, well, well.
SpiriTs damp? 3 ouT of 5 Trophies prove us The champ.
As each day passes, prom draws nearer.
The secreTs ouT. The world'll be here.
The juniors couldn'T do iT and we knew iT.
Soon our Senior Chapel and our Iasf day,
And, beTore we go our separaTe ways,
Jenny, Lowell, and Ron
To iobs in school and planTs and banks, we would like To say Thanks.
