S. Army On a bright September morning way back in l943, we seniors, both frightened and unsuspecting, entered the halls of T. H. S. for the first time, As freshment we studied our "heads off" to better ourselves before becoming upperclassmen. Upon entering our sophomore year, we joined the Girl Reserve, Hi-Y, Glee Club, and other extra-curricular activities along with sports of all kinds. A few of us gave forth our lusty voices in the operetta, "Harmony Hall". After two years of hard work, we obtained the glory of being upperclassmen, only to be bossed by seniors and teachers. During this year, five members of our class were elected to the National Honor Society. These students were Patricia Frisbie, Patricia Jones, Herbert Fader, Robert McFadden, and David Stephen- son. During this year, we attended our first Prom. Many of us were in the operetta "H, M. S. Pinafore" and also presented the junior class play, "Professor, How Could You?" The junior Girl Reserves gave their traditional senior breakfast for the senior girls, and the class, as a whole, gave the Farewell Chapel. At long last, we became the "bosses" of the lower classmen. iSo we thoughtll During this year, we par- ticipated in every club and sport there was. Our great fame came when our football team became the first M. V. L. Champions in the history of Troy High. One of our girls was elected Homecoming Queen and another girl and boy were elected Queen and King of Hearts at the S. O. S. Junimore-Hi-Y Formal. Four more of our group were elected to the National Honor Society in their last semester. They were Clare Chestnut, Kathryn Johnston, Phyllis Shane, and Robert Kaufman. Our class play, "Lost Horizon", Baccalaureate, and Commencement brought down the curtain on our twelve years of school. And so as we leave Troy High to begin a different life, we look back upon our happy days at T. H. S. which passed too quickly for some, but too slowly for others. We want to thank our teachers and friends who so laboriously and patiently tried to prepare us for our places in the world of tomorrow. We leave T. H. S. every good wish for her continued success. il? ii 'W441' V gflliftb ' , 3 If 'v , 23 -nw1gg1amamueu:.v:m.'Awwf Luau- gxrhmmn. ,na .mu-an umm uniaaefau "Three down and one to go" - that briefly is the history of the Junior Class at Troy High School. The Juniors have had three good years at Troy High and are looking forward to the last and lthey hopel the best. The members of this class have been especially outstanding scholastically. Each year many of them have entered the scholarship tests at Miami Univer- sity. They have also participated enthusiastically in athletics and extra- curricular activities. Nine members of the class were chosen as members of the National Honor Society. They are Marilyn Rogers, Jean Dungan, Mary Catherine Gardner, Nancy Gardner, Beverly Grauser, Barbara Bowman, Wilma Coppess, James Johnston, and William Pearson. This year the Juniors produced a junior class play, "Chicken Every Sunday". This class also presented an impressive Senior Farewell Chapel and a Junior- Senior Dinner-Dance for the graduating class. The class advisers are Mary Butler, Carleton Kazmaier, Donald C. Bay, and L. E. Jackson. aniaaefadfl ywm eau age. Roger Fulker, President: Robert Bader, Vice Presi- dent: Mary G. Gardner Secretary: Bobbe Butter- field, Treasurer. Under the capable direction of Miss Thelma Thompson, the Junior Class, on November 22, presented as their class play a three act comedy entitled "Chicke n Every Sunday". The story centered around the Blachman boarding house in Tuscon, Arizona, in the year l9l6, and related the vicissitudes of Mrs. Blachman, the boarding house proprietress, who endeavored to keep a check on the antics of her happy-go-lucky h usband, while thriftily managing the hostelry. The boarders were quite cosmopolitan, ranging from a widow, who doted on cosmetics and beautifying lotions, to an American Indian. Several female char- acters, some of whom were a bit on the eccentric side, enlivened the play. Although the plot was somewhat obscure, the eldest daughter's engagement to a wealthy Easterner, who was suspected of being a spy, supplied the central theme, with the actions of the Blach- man's numerous boarders furnishing the comedy relief. All ended happily, however, when the daughter realized her true love was a childhood sweetheart. CAST Mrs. Lawson ...... Jeffrey Lawson .... . Miss Gllley ......... Mr. Willard .........
