At the beginning of the year it was decided that new curtains would improve the sewing room. Miss God- dard and the girls chose blue drapes and the sewing classes made them. The old curtains were remade to suit the windows in the kitchen. After taking inventory of all supplies it was decided that there was needed. most of all. a cabinet for the sewing classes. Plans were soon made for this cabinet which provided individual lockers for each member of the classes. space for storing the ironing board and cleaning equipment. hangers for garments and a beau- tiful triple mirror. Next the girls turned their attention to the recep- tion room which has been a project of the club for three years. The room contained a davenport that needed covering rather badly. After a little work it looked like a new one all dressed up in new covers. By this time the new cabinet had taken its place in the sewing room. Members of the club. armed with sandpaper and paint brushes finished it beautifully in very little time. The club has bought and paid for new lights that were badly needed in the sewing room. Selling chances on a fruit cake. made by the students. sponsoring a picture show and preparing the annual banquets be- came methods of paying for our new equipment. Ours has been a very successful year in every way. we feel. and we are looking forward to next year's work with a joy that comes with worthwhile accom- plishments.
