Wins over Kingswood and Canterbury at the end of the season showed the teams talent. This talent was overshadowed at times from the mistakes in certain games. Greg Wenzel average of 120 yards a game was a most important factor to the teams offense. Kevin Finn was just as impressive as the split end having receptions in all of the teams wins that were an important factor in the teams success. VARSITY FIRST ROW: Ciccone. Hickey. McLean. The Harriers went through a string of meets in which they lost three and tied Salisbury. Over the next four meets the team won three, defeating Cheshire twice and Gunnery. This year's team had the task of upholding last year’s 18-1-1 record and league championship. Although the league title was not defended, the team won the prestigious Lawrenceville Tournament. This was considered the highlight of the season. Trinity-Pawling defeated Belmont Hill. Kent, and St. Andrew's to capture the title. Another major accomplishment for Captain Steve Salvati’s team was beating rival Kent two out of three games even though Kent was the eventual league champion. Departing seniors are Steve Salvati. Captain Jay Heydt showed some remarkable skill by finishing third overall in the Kenver Cup Slalom beating 56 other skiers. The team lost two meets by only a tenth of a second in overall combined time. Some great improvements were made for a solid team in the coming years. With only three seniors on the team. Jay Heydt. Peter Long, and Rich Paish. the team was more concerned with building strength because of a lack of depth. With the strong skiing ability of such skiers as Graham Atkinson. Chip Foster, and Dave Harding, and the improvement of Nick Stevens. Paul Murano. Joe Rossano. Alex Prokai. Skimmer Hellier. Brian Rodgers. C.K. One of the better games was against Wooster when the team was behind and came back for a win of 3 games to 2 games. Our most difficult challenge was against Hotchkiss which was a disappointing loss.
