Our culture is termed scientific and sometimes inhumanisticl but there is hope. For even as these social- izing changes occur, we find more and more emphasis being placed on individualismg not people living for them- selves. but people dedicated to help each other, in their own way. We cannot become subjected to lJarwin's theory of "The Survival ofthe Fittest"1 we must adapt or we will never live our lives to the fullest extent. Although it ap- pears as a time of turmoil, it is merely a period of Trans- ition: and all hope lies in us. N--sw I icq, I-. Young Team Looks Toward Future 4 o. 1, Again Once again Mark Peterman coached the Trojans to another MCC Cham- pionship. lt was not an outstanding year as the Trojans ran up a regular season record of 17-10 and an ll-1 MCC slate, losing only to Grace. The MCC Championship was enough to earn the team their fifth District 21 Playoff bid. Playing at home in the first round,' the Trojans came from behind to defeat Indiana Central, 78- 75. Two nights later a rematch of the finalist of the preceeding year came about at Earlham as the Trojans met the host team. No Tri-State team has ever played better than the 1971- 72 team did at Earlham. ln Kansas, the Trojans came up against their first seven footer of the year, and although playing the game well, came away with a 78-61 set back to St. Thomas of Minn. lt took nearly a whole sea- son to put it all together, but the 1971-72 team did it and they reigned State Champions. miiillmk fit Desire. . . 11 I I-,Q M napa V f45'wQ4mQ9vr Y , 1 vwwfwwefw ' 4 6 an aff- , M A., Y , aw- ' v 0, f I Il I i K S 1 re. These memories will be dif- ferent for all of usg good and bad memories, happy and sad memories, memories of success and of failure. We all share a common bond in these memories, however, in that we will all remember this year as an important part of our lives. Many things have happened to each of us during this year. We have faced new experiences and new challenges. We have met many people and made new friends. We have opened our minds to new ideas and shared our own with others. At times we have Challenged these ideas and have worked together to form new ones. We have all undergone a transition to some degree, and through us Tri- State College has undergone an even greater transition. 1 v w w 1 xv N wi , , '4 . - , ' . , , , 'H' E --1.413 , I, .Q , 'f , X " I PM V U I' I. 5, 4' ly .
