Commander Brian Goulding Was born and raised in Chicago, Illin0iS and graduated from Michigan State Univer- sity. He entered the Navy via Officer Candidate School and was commis- sioned in 1982. He is a 1995 graduate of the Marine Corps Command and Staff College. At sea he has served aboard USS MID- WAY CCV 415 as M Division Officer and Assistant Navigator, as Navigator and Administration Officer on USS OLDENDORF CDD 97253 Chief Engi- neer on USS RATHBURNE CFF 105755 and Executive Officer of USS JOHN PAUL JONES CDDG 535. Ashore, Commander Goulding was an instructor at the Steam Engineering Officer of the Watch Course at the Sur- face Warfare Officer School in Newport, Rhode Island, Steam Propulsion Plant Examiner at the Pacific Fleet Propul- sion Examining Board, and most re- cently as a Joint Task Force Exercise Planner at United States Atlantic Com- mand in Suffolk, Virginia. CDR Goulding's personal awards in- clude the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal CfouraWards5, and Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal Ctwo aWards5.
