Master Chief Larry Farmer was born 31 July 1955 in Patuxent River, MD. He joined the Navy on 15 August 1973 and completed Recruit Training in Orlando, FL. Prior to reporting to the Fleet in February 1974 for his first tour, he completed Operations Specialist "AU School at Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, IL. His duty assignments include: USS OUELLET CFF 10775, USS CORAL SEA CCV 435, USS WHIPPLE KFF 10625, Fleet Combat Training Center, Atlantic, Virginia Beach, VA, USS CORAL SEA CCV 435, Naval Military Personnel Command, Washington, DC, USS SEATTLE CAOE 35, USNS SPICA CT-AFS 95, Naval Telecommunications Station, Pensacola, FL, Chief of Naval Education and Training, Pensacola, FL, Military Sealift Command Western Pacific, Guam, and USS NIMITZ CCVN 685. After graduating from, the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, at Newport, RI, Class 89 Green, he reported to USS TRENTON CLPD 145 as the Command Master Chief. Master Chief Farmer detached USS TRENTON in April 2002 and reported to his next assignment, Personnel Support Activ- ity, Norfolk, VA. as the Command Master Chief. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Com- mendation Medal with two Gold Stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two Gold Stars, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, and various unit campaign and service medals. 10 CMDMC CSW5 LARRY FARMER Command Master Chief Y l

2 LCDR CURTIS L. BROWN Executive Officer CCICE Lieutenant Commander Brown was born in Newport News, Vir- ginia. He graduated from Hampton High School in Hampton, Virginia, and enlisted in the Navy in 1983. Upon completion ofthe Naval Academy Preparatory School he received an appoint- ment to the United States Naval Academy where he graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. In June 1989 he reported for duty in USS MILWAUKEE CAOR 25 stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. His initial three year division officer assignment included duties as Communications Officer, Auxiliaries Officer and Electronics Material Officer. During his tour, USS MILWAUKEE completed two Mediterranean deploy- ments and two Counter Drug Operations. While serving in USS MILWAUKEE, Lieutenant Commander Brown earned his Sur- face Warfare Officer qualification. Following his first sea tour, Lieutenant Commander Brown reported for duty in USS BIDDLE CCG 345 as Damage Control Assistant where he earned his Engi- neering Officer ofthe Watch qualification. Following the decom- missioning of BIDDLE in November 1993, Lieutenant Com- mander Brown reported to Readiness Support Group, Norfolk as the Contracts Officer. After completing department head training, Lieutenant Com- mander Brown reported to USS PENSACOLA CLSD 383 as Engi- neer Officer from September 1996 to June 1998. During his tour, USS PENSACOLA completed a deployment to the Mediterra- nean as a part of the NASSAU Amphibious Ready Group CARGJ taking part in the NEO in Albania. Lieutenant Commander Brown then transferred to the AMPHIBIOUS SQUADRON ELEVEN CPHIBRON 11D in Sasebo, Japan as the Material!Logistics Of- ficer. During his tour he participated in no-notice deployments to the Arabian Gulf as part of Operation Desert Fox and the Timor Sea for humanitarian assistance to East Timor. He was assigned to Surface Warfare Officer School Command CSWOSCOLCOMD from March 2000 to February 2002 as the Di- vision Head for Boiler WaterfFeedwater in the Engineering De- partment. During his tour as an instructor, he qualified Master Training Specialist. Reported to USS TRENTON CLPD 145 as Executive Officer in May 2002. Lieutenant Commander Brown's awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal Cfive awardsj, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal Ctwo awardsl, and various unit, campaign and service medals. Lieutenant Commander Brown is married to the former Tonya Williams of Newport News, Virginia. They reside in Chesapeake, Virginia with their two children: Ariana and Curtis Jr. 9

CMDMC CAWXSW5 OSBOND J. KINDLE JR Command Maser Chief TERCI Born in Gainesville, Florida on 14 June 1961. Master Chief Kindle enlisted on active duty 6 September 1978. Completed boot camp at RTC, Great Lakes. Completed Engineman "A" at NTC, Great Lakes. Severed the following sea tours: USS KITTIWAKE CASR 135 in Norfolk, Virginia, USS PIEDMONT CAD 175 in Norfolk, Virginia, USS SIMON LAKE CAS 335 in Kings Bay, Georgia, USS Yellowstone CAD 415 in Norfolk, Virginia, USS EISENHOWER CCVN 695 in Norfolk, Virginia, USS GRASP CARS 515 in Little Creek, Virginia as the Main Propulsion Assistant and Senior Enlisted Advisor. His shore tours include: Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, US Navy Brig at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida, Mobile Inshore and Undersea Warfare Unit CMIUW 2075 in Jacksonville, Florida, Naval Computers and Telecommunications Area Master Station, Norfolk, Virginia, and Fleet Technical Support Center, Norfolk, Virginia as HMSLE Depart- ment LCPO and Senior Diesel Inspector. He has completed the following educa- tion, qualifications, and certifications on ac- tive duty: Florida High School Diploma and Bachelors of Science Degree in Education spe- cializingin curriculum development, Engineer- ing 'Officer Of the Watch, Officer Of the Deck underway, and Diesel Engine Inspector Certi- fication Course. Completed the Senior Enlisted Academy class of 100, before reporting as the Command Master Chief onboard the USS TRENTON CLPD 145. His son completed has completed his Engineering Degree. His daughter is on ac- tive duty in the Navy as a FC3. He was awarded two Navy Commendation Medals, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, six Good Conduct Medals, and three Sea Service Ribbons. ll
