Our class was rather small with nine students. They were Joyce Strum, John Tucker, Barbara Nethery, Helen Rose O'Geary, Ray Keeton, Billy Walker, Betty Lou Wright, Winston Keeton, and Harold Matthews. The class officers were: President, John Tucker, Vice-President, Barbara Nethery, Secretary-Treasurer, Helen Rose O'Geary. Our homeroom teacher was Mrs. Mac Satterwhite. In the fall of i955 we entered the so phomore class with only five of our original class. We lost Harold Matthews, Ray Keeton, Billy Walker, and Betty Lou Wright, but we gained three new students. Rodgers Boswell came to us from Warrenton. Barbara Matthews also came to us from Franklinton. Marie Norwood decided she'd rather be in our class so she dropped back a year for us. The class officers were: Joyce Strum, President, Vice- President, John Tucker, Secretary-Treas urer, Barbara Nethery. Mrs. Bullock was our homeroom teacher and sponsor. - In i956 we were all promoted to high headed Juniors. We had eight students in our class. Miss Lyles wasour sponsor and we had a very successful year. We gave our Junior play March 15, T957. Everybody had a role in the play and we thought it was very good. The title of it was "June Fever." We also gave the Seniors a swell banquet on May IO, l957. Mrs. Jessie Harris was our homeroom teacher. Our Junior year was a very happy one, but we were all glad to see the end of that year, because we knew the next step would be the last. We all entered our Senior year with happy smiles because we were proud Seniors. Our class officers are: President, Barbara Nethery,Vice-President, Joyce Strum, Secretary, Hel en O' Geary, Treasurer, Barbara Matthews, and Historian, John Tucker. We have a whole new faculty this year and we all like them very much. We gained Ollie May Haring from Sumter, South Carolina, which built our class back up to nine. There are nine seniors now and are eagerly looking forward to going up on the stage of old T.H.S. and receiving our diplomas, which we have been striving for, for these last twelve years. JOHN TUCKER Historian LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We the Senior Class of I958 hereby publish this our Last Will and Testament, and leave our hopes high that our Will be accepted and carried out to the fullest. Article I To this school we leave the echoes of our little feet thundering through the hall . Article ll ltem l To our teachers we leave our love and most sincere wishes that some day they shall have everything that they have done for us returned to them much brighter than before. Item 2 To Mr. Singletary, we give thanks for helping us through all seven periods, especially third period. Article III Item I To the Junior Class we leave the priviledge of being called Sophiscated Seniors. Item 2 To the Sophomore Class we leave the problem of choosing a theme for the Junior-Senior Banquet. ltem 3 To the Freshman Class we leave those opportunities, if used wisely, will make the next three years the happiest of their high school career. JOHN TUCKER leaves to Jack Adams his many girlfriends. He has more girls than Carter has pills. Article IV Item I Item 2 RODGERS BOSWELL leaves his ability to play baseball to Gene Norwood. Item 3 WINSTON KEETON leaves his ability to take his school bus around a curve on one wheel- steering wheel that is, to Warren Capps. Item 4 JOYCE STRUM leaves her legs to GertrudeWilliams. We hope you like them. We sure did. ltem 5 BARBARA NETHERY leaves her beauty to Barbara Reese. Item 6 OLLIE MAE HARING leaves her brains to Grace Woodlief. Item 7 BARBARA MATTHEWS leaves her sweet and lovely personality to Mary Ann Hope. ltem S MARIE NORWOOD leaves her promptness and dependability to Rose Brewer. Item 9 And I, HELEN ROSE O'GEARY leave my ability to flirt to the Junior girls to divide equally among themselves. HELEN ROSE O' GEARY Testatrix A.. JN 4 Gs Q' ilk CLASS PROPHECY As I was walking down a small dirt road the other day, suddenly I saw a folded paper sticking out from under the edge of a big rock. The rock was very heavy, but I was curious and wanted to know what kind of paper should be in such an odd place. I Finally got up enough strength to move the rock and started to read the paper. To my surprise I found out it told what the seniors would be doing ten years from this day. This was a great discovery. Why, everyone would want to hear this! It reads as follows: , BARBARA NETHERY, the class president, is now married to Johnny Riggan, and they with their two fine children are making their home in Arkansas. JOYCE STRUM, the vice-president has completed her training and is now a registered nurse. She has a happy home in Raleigh, North Carolina with her husband and one two-year old child. JOHN TUCKER, the historian of our class, has a career as a jet pilot in the United States Air Force. John is married to Miss North Carolina of l96O. RODGERS BOSWELL, the most athletic boy of the class, is playing ball with the Yankees. They have won the world series for the last nine years. OLLIE HARING is a career woman. She is a secretary in the U.S. Mint in Washington. She has been engaged for the last six months. HELEN ROSE O'GEARY is an actress in New York. She has been in several broadway plays and has appeared on television three times. She is married and has two children. WINSTON KEETON is a mechanical engineer in the United States Air Force. MARIE NORWOOD is a secretary in Raleigh, North Carolina, after finishing training at Henderson Business College. Finally came my turn, I was excited to see what I would be doing ten years from now. This is the way the paper read for me. BARBARA MATTHEWS, the class treasurer has a iob as a journalist for the News 'cQdObserver in Raleigh. These are all iust prophecies. Some may come true, some may not, but I hope they all succeed in what they start out to do.
