Hesling Principal The members of the BLAZER staff present a book of memories which is a credit to them and to Torrington High School. We congratulate them for this annual which contains a chronicle of our year's work. The faculty and the community are very proud of our student body. The cooperation and contributions made by you as students are largely responsible for the high standards of our school. I am sure you will always feel a sense of pride in being a graduate of Torrington High School. We wish you success and happiness and our interest will continue to be with you. The perronalitj of a school is perpetuated by an accurate portrayal of its memories and traditions. Certainly Tor- rington High School has a pleasing and distinctive person- ality. And certainly the group that has worked with so much initiative and diligence has done much to portray the spirit that is T.H.S. This Annual is the record of an interesting, useful year. We started the first years of our high school off with a bang electing as officers Kaye Smith, president, Bill Sparks, vice-president, Gardner Knight, secretary, and Don Her- man, treasurer. The highlight of the year was the St. Patrick's Dance which we gave. As sophomores, we elected Bill Sparks, president, Gardner Knight, vice-president, Jack Hughes, secretary, and Wayne Torrey, treasurer. Then came the most important year, the junior year. For our officers we chose jackie Ray, president, Riney Lind, vice-president, Janice Garing, secretary, and Neal Kelly, treasurer. To finance our prom and banquet we had a ham raffle, a turkey raffle, a dance with a floor show, a carnival, and, of course, the junior Class play. Our junior-Senior Prom and Banquet, which we think is the best, was held on April 25, 1952. The theme was "Garden of Memories." The gym was decorated like a garden and the main attraction was the fountain. In ending our high-school years, we chose our officers as Riney Lind, president: Phyllis Miller, vice-president, Ardith Maude, secretary, and Alan Arnold, treasurer. We gave a welcoming dance for the freshman and new students. Later we gave our sensational Senior Class play. The main event of the year was the Senior Sneak Day. Our twelve years of school closed when we had Baccalaureate on May 10, and Commencement on May 12, 1953.
