We have a really good staff. They've worked hard and have done a good job, first semester Co-Edi- tor Carrie Wagaman said. A special event for both the Cheva- lier and the Campus View staffs was the National Journalism Education Association convention November 9-11 in St. Louis. Eight students par- ticipated in events that included lec- tures, seminars and a journalism contest, along with sightseeing and a disco dance. Two credits had to be communication products, and two were the student's choice. Composi- tion 1 and speech arts were also re- quired. Some courses offered were human- ities, creative writing, mythology, discussion, debate, science fiction, acting, grammar, world literature and mass media. Besides offering the most courses, the department also had the most teachers, 15. Three new teachers joined the staff. Miss Beverly Ber- nardi taught Composition 2, creative writing and English experiences. Tom Mitchell taught Composition 2, science fiction and English exper- iences. Les Kuhns taught forensics, Composition 2, U.S. literature and debate.
