Westin eunfilsz as Q50 Q-calixfatintptlemme The boy's basketball team had a fine season, ending the year with an 11-9 record. The team might have had a better record if not for some close ballgames. The basketball team also had a first for the school, taking the co-championship in the newly formed I-70 League. Coach Jerry Wright was optimistic about the team. The team made steady pro- gress and improvement throughout the season, and if not for a couple of poor games, we could have compet- ed against anyone, he said. The JV won 13 and lost 3, while the sophomores won 12 and lost 6. In the sophomore tournament at Seaman High School, the team lost in the finals to Topeka High. Their tournament wins included a forfeit by Shawnee Heights. In the finals, both the Trojans and the Chargers employed a run-and-gun offense, with a hard, hustling full court press.
