Stunning nearly everyone, the en- thused squad rolled over seven op- ponets, losing only twice, and fin- ished just fractions of a point away from a playoff spot. The Chargers developed a running attack to complement the fine pass- ing game led by quarterback- Brady Pryor, '79. This punch gave the team the best record in the city after having the worst record at O-9 the season before. At the beginning of the year, l thought we would win a few games, Coach Walton said, but the team believed in themselves and thought they could do it. Stopping the teams from attaining the glory experienced on the varsity level was their lack of experiences. The Junior varsity squad was largely made-up of sophomores, who used this as a stepping stone to gain ex- perience and confidence in them- selves. The juniors used the chance to play as an aid to time-up their play and better themselves for varsi- ty play. ABOVE: West player crack down an offensive surge.
