Elnimf-afaicmiim M39 iimfoums The rise in prices of many goods brought home to students the prob- lem of inflation. Prices have risen 8- 10 percent each year, although many salaries have not. lt has re- quired people to learn to manage their money wisely. Business courses helped students to budget their income and introduced them to many jobs in the business field. Courses such as typing, short- hand, recordkeeping, accounting, office practice, business law and consumer economics were offered. Class projects familiarized students with obligations that business offices have to the public. Business teachers included Charles Conklin, Ron Shaffer and Mrs. Susan DeAngelis. i 14 TOP: Listening for instructions is Pat Mc- Donald, '79. Besides art exploration, a prerequisite to all other art courses, students could take design, ceramics, jewelry, drawing, opaque painting, and tex- tile design. Students tried their hand at various projects ranging from silk- screening to setting a stone in a ring or a bracelet. Joining returning teachers Royce Fleming, Mrs. Barbara Parks and Mrs. Gretta Anderson was Ass't Prin.
