Language Arts Offers Variety To learn to communicate in society and to understand and to appreciate the written lan- guagen were two purposes of language arts courses. Composition 1,2,3, introduc- tion to Hterature, creative xvrh- ing, grammar and research, and accelerated reading were among the 33 language arts courses taught by 15 teachers. Charger Math Classes ultiply Most people consider mathe- matics as one big puzzle, but for those in the new Mathematics as a Human Adventure puzzles were used to solve mathemati- cal theorems. Mrs. Ruth Lichtenstern, Mathematics Department chairman, said H Enrollment has really gone up this year. We have two classes of Computer Math, which Mr. Cladfelter teachesf' The department proposed some changes 'for next year.
