To Needs of Students
COMPETENT and abreast of the times, Troy's six-
man administrative staff worked diligently to pre-
sent both the gaining of knowledge and the adjust-
ment to widening horizons as exciting challenges to
a large and varied student body. They worked on
the humanistic theory that each individual presents
a new "frontier" that must be explored and con-
quered just as our forefathers viewed the often un-
1960-61 presented a tremendous problem of enroll-
ment and curriculum planning because the organi-
zation of the new Topeka West High directly af-
fected about 400 members of Troy's student body
and influenced plans for the regular 1961-62
schedules in both schools.
As "Coordinator Extraordinnaireu, Principal
Weaver held the reins of academic and guidance
fields, scholarship preparation and awards, and the
necessary contacts of investigation and discipline
that are all a part of the life of a large and progres-
sive school. With his confreres he constantly kept in
mind the great responsibility of good public rela-
tions so necessary in this day when democracy and
education are on trial all over the world.
