These four were Russell Wetmore, George F. Medill, Charles W. Bulkley, and James A. Van Hook, all of whom are freshmen at Princeton. From the Class of 1929 two men, Robert Francis Shepherd and Robert Maclary Diggs, were selected for early initiation at the public meeting on the eleventh of janu- ary. Both had exceptionally high averages, and the class can be proud of its scholastic champions, who have, in addition, been active in the many-sided life of the School. Shepherd also captured the Lloyd Andrews Hamilton prize, awarded by Cum Laude for excellence in College Board Examinations in june. Dean Christian Gauss, of Princeton, a trustee of the School, addressed the chapter and the School on the importance of purpose in the attainment of happiness and success both in college and later days. After the address the Chapter and the Senior Class were entertained by the Director and Mrs. Brush at their home. Unfortunately, when this book goes to press, those others who will win Cum Laude honors are not yet known, but, whoever they may be, the honor men will be worthy representatives of the Class of 1929 and of Tome. affix' N' X5 Serenly-nine
