Sociely Basketball Squad Society Basketball GROUP OF ENTHUSIASTIC, hard-lighting Olympians secured delicious revenge for their ignominious defeat in Society Football last fall by snatching a five game basketball series from the Pythians for the intra-mural crown. The first game, which was the closest one of the season, was played on january 29th and was won by the Olympians by two foul shots in the last 30 seconds to play, 17-16. A'week later the Olympians again vanquished their traditional enemies, 24-20. On the 21st of February a determined Pythian quintet came from behind to take the third game, 27-23. Seven days after that the Olympians beat their opponents in an exciting struggle, 15-11. It was unnecessary to play the fifth game, as the Olmypians had cinched the series. The regular Pythian quin- tet usually consisted of Birke, Crowell, Ford, Haas, and Barron. The mainstays of the Olympians were Brewer, Van Voorhis, Pape, Burns, and Slingluff. After the Olympian-Pythian series the society players joined forces to complete the All-Society schedule, which had begun beforehand with games against Port Deposit, Gilman, and West Nottingham. Although the team was handicapped in these games on account of not having played together in practice, it won all of these games without particular difficulty. The Belair game was the only one played after the series was over, and the team showed up exceedingly well in this, after a little hard work had got the players working with each other. Birke and Brewer were the most consistent point scorers for the All-Society. One Hundred and Serfenleen
