F7 V3 aQ,,,QzX X- gf: 6 X' Qfwkwgg Aviation Club HIS YEAR has seen a new club founded and flourish. Presley and Lark started this organization with a nucleus of fellows interested in aviation. These were Geohegan, Haas, Hawrin, F. W., Law, Moore, Rae, Spallholz, E. H., Steimle, Weil, and White, K. The club was very fortunate in securing Mr. Garrett as faculty advisor. At the first meeting of the club Lark was elected President and Presley Secretary-Treasurer. Mr. Beveridge and Gleeson Murphy were elected to honorary membership. The purpose of the club is to give the members a wider knowledge of modern aviation than that which could be acquired by the reading of newspapers and maga- zines. The meetings, held approximately every two weeks, have been interesting and abounding in information that helps in the understanding of aviation problems. Ar the first meeting of the year Lark and Presley gave talks on The Modern Air- port and The Fokker Super-Universal respectively. The other speakers of the year were Mr. Beveridge on European Airways, Presley on The Flight of the Question Mark, Mr. Mock on The Bellanca Airplane and Factory Operations, and Richard james on My Experiences, all of these speeches being very interesting. At a second business meeting Barron, Easley, Gray, james, U. S., and Wise, were taken into active membership, while all the outside speakers of the year were made honorary members. Presley has asked several other men, prominent in aviation circles, to speak to the club this year, and they are awaited with eagerness by the members. ig? - , X W VP' S' is 4 1' 497 Q .. . -4,4 N ine! y-three
