In the summer of 1923 we were forced to land. and upon resuming our cruise three months later our old ship was abondoned for a more modern and up-to- date one along with the additional officers Miss Burnside Mr. Weber and Mr. Rodgers. Our cruise now took us to Sophomoreland where we received two new passengers, Frances Daeger and Marguerite Syers. Time sped on and it was soon time for us to start again for a distant country. We sailed along peacefully for three months and in September 1923 we landed in Junior- land. In Juniorland we picked up three new passengers Marjorie Fisher. a girl with such winning ways that she was soon loved by all her fellow passengers, Thomas Wright and Stanley Ring. While in Juniorland, Ferne and Hazel sailed away on the sea of matrimony. Here Mr, Mullins, who had been commander for two years. left to command another vessel, and Mr. Peter- son joined us as commander, with Miss Starr and Miss Ireland as assistants. BASKETBALL Basleetball is Tolono's favorite sport. The interest. not only of the students. but ofthe entire community. centers around it. XVhen our coach, Mr. Peterson. came lo Tolono he found that there were no letter men available. He had to start building from the bottom, In the two years he has been here. Mr. Peterson has worked up a team. that. While not champions. are going in that direction. The team has won six of the twenty-one games played. making the per centage approximately three hundred for the season. Both in the county and in the district tournaments Tolono played only one game. but they showed a type of sportsmanship of which anyone could well he proud.
