AC T IVIT IES Initiation The Freshman C lass was initiated by-the Sophomores at the Tiro School. They had to take off their shoes and were blindfolded. Then an egg that was broken was passed from hand-to-hand. Refreshments were served afterwards. HIGH SCHOOL PARTY In November we entertained the high school by giving a party. We spent the evening dancing fround and square, with Eugene Rietchlin's Orchestra furnishing the music. Cider and cookies were served during the intermission. CHRISTMAS CANTATA The Heavenly Father was presented in December by the mixed chorus. There were a few solos sung. Christlnas carols were sung after the cantata.. EASTER CANTATA C alvary our Easter Cantata was under the direction of Miss Wauneta Smith and presented by the mixed chorus in March. Rev. KennethStover was commentator. The Girls' Chorus sang O Morn OfBeauty . I UN IOR PLAY . The BabySitter was presented by the .Tunior Class November 30, 1947. Mrs. Hanline was the director. The cast included: Bob--who breaks, a date--Glen Burky, Mother--who makes him break the date--Ruth Graham, Father--who agrees with mother--Ross Eckstein, Junior--a holy terror-- C harles Magers, Jane--F lorence Auck, Helen--Marjorie B aker--B ob's sisters, C arrie C arrie--B ob's one-and-only--Helen Fagan, Eunice--who tries to take C arrie's place-- Leona Stump, C arl--Helen's Boyfriend--Albert Miller, Lefty--another holy terror-- Leland Stump,-Midge--Effie Zeigler, Dot--Cordy Schiefer--who raids the icebox, Mr- and Mrs. Gordon--J'unior's parents--Marlin Cole and Rose Steele. JUNIOR -SENIOR BANQUET The theme for our banquet was Hitch Your Wagon To A Star . The Juniors gave the banquet April 30, 1948, in the Tiro School Auditoruim at 6:30 p. m. with the Seniors and the high school faculty as honored guests. The evening was spent dancing to Russell Weber's Orchestra. .TUNIOR-SENIOR TRIP TO COLUMBUS In May the Juniors and S eniors accompanied by Mrs. Fetter, Mr. and Mrs. Hanline, and Mr. Dudley went to C oluinbus. They visited the Mental Hospital, the State Penitentiary, and the School for the Deaf. This trip was enjoyed by every one. 27
