CLASS HISTORY September, 1936, twenty shy little boys and girls met for the first time to get acquainted and make friends. The class roll contained the following: Dicky Clark, Gale Norris, Bob Carle, Elwood Fried, Glenn Swanger, junior Reinbolt, Joyce Sief, Shirley Amstutz., joane Cleland, Wilma Kessler, Doris Rank, lvlarilyn May, Keith Clawson, Pauline Buskirk, Naomi Magers, Donna Orewiler, Nlargaret W.ood, Mary Buck, Mildred Nickleson, and Georgene Bruce. n As we traveled along we gained new ones and lost old ones. In the second grade we gained Sylvester Shell, and lost Dicky Clark and Ruth Bevier who was promoted up one grade. Our teacher was Miss McMahan. ln the third grade we lost Pauline Buskirk and gained Helen Shively and Ronald Craven. Our teacher was Miss Matthews. Also in the third grade we went to Shelby to see the show Tom Sawyer. We also visited, the Crestline library. The fourth year we gained Charles and Rita Dangles, Claude and Bertha Ball, Mary Kathryn Fox and Mrs. Farell was our teacher. In the fifth grade our class was divided, part of us were in with the fourth and rest in with the sixth grade. Miss Creau and Mrs. Neal were our teachers. We gained Glenna Burkett and lost joane Cleland, Ronald Craven, Helen Shively, Mary Buck, Keith Clawson, Mary Kathryn Fox, and Bertha and Claude Ball. In the sixth grade we gained Bob Hopkins and Edward Gamble, and lost Glenna Burkett. Our teacher was Mrs. Stone. In 1942 we really began to grow up. At least that was what we thought, for eleven of us were occupying the south side of the junior High room. Miss Lynn was our class adviser. We gained Avery Brown, john Pearce, Melba Graham, and lost Charles and Rita Dangles, Sylvester Shell, Bob Hopkins, and Edward Gamble. Our eighth grade sponsor was Miss Baur and then Mrs. Miller. During the year we gained Lena Sipe and Mary Lou Poffenbaugh, and lost Avery Brown and Melba Graham. In 1944 we started our first year of high school. Our enrollment consist- ed of Shirley Amstutz., Wilma Kessler, Elwood Fried, Gale Norris, john Pearce, Donna Orewiler, Mary Lou Poffenbaugh, Naomi Magers, Marilyn May, Lena Sipe, Doris Sheldon, Dorothy Gosser, Joyce Sief. During the year we lost Lena Sipe and Dorothy Gosser, and Miss Fleet was our Fresh- man sponsor. During our Sophomore year we gave the annual High School Party and ordered our class rings. We took a hike to Sief's pasture field and stayed all day. For dinner we had a Weiner roast. Also while we were Sophomores we fixed the Ag. room up with comical pictures of students and teachers to make a little money. The junior year our class' rings came. We gave our play Moon Shy on November 7. We entertained the seniors with the Annual junior and Senior Prom here at the school building. ln our Senior year -nine ntembers started but we lost Mary Lou Poffenbaugh Our graduation pictures were taken by Mr. De Vito. We chose our caps and gowns, the boys wore blue and the girls wore white. Our Senior playi was Here Goes the Groom . Baccalaureate service was held May 16 with Rev. Goedking as speaker. Commencement exercises were held May Z0, with Harry L. Rahmann from Findlay as speaker.
