The outstand- ing leadership of the president, Ken jacob, gave this organ- ization the ruling power they needed to have a sueeessful year. ln order to have more equal representation from all of the students to student eouneil, the membership consisted of the student body officers, the Girls' League and Boys' lederation presidents, the class presidents and secretaries, and .1 representative from eaeh third period elass. All business and problems that arose during the school year were brought before this group to be taken care of. The 1996 Homecoming, which was under the leadership of the student eouneil, was the most outstanding one Tilla-HL had ever seen. C UUNCIL ized during the March of Dimes and collected over 5600. The lleart lfund received approximately 51200. Both of these projects were sent to the Denim Council for the ,juvenile Decency Award which Tilla-Hi had received in 1956 for outstanding work on the Heart lfund. A new club was established this year in Tilla-Hi to promote spirit. This was the Esquires, an organization for boys not necessarily in sports who wish to bring spirit into the school. A big problem that arose this year concerning the stu- dent body was that of balancing the budget. The funds were very low, and it became necessary for the students to earn money to raise the student body funds. The annual student body play was a big success.
