Father Matthew Butsch This is graduation year for the congenial man of many talents pictured above. Father Matthew Butsch for the last 4 years has taught, coached, counseled, and been the friend of everyone of Tillamook Catholic High. He came in the same year the seniors entered school as frosh. Since then he has produced many spirit- ed and competitive teams, which have won their share of laurels. To you, Father Butsch. we the seniors say, thank you and God bless you. The smiling lad shown below is our own jerry Waud, Tillamook Catholic's contribution to this yearis Shrine All-Star game at Pendleton, Oregon in August. jerry, this year,s co-captain, was chosen by the coaches of the opposing teams the Vikings met this year. Ierry began his football as a starting end in his freshman year and after a successful year there, he was shifted to the quarterback slot. In this position he piloted the Vikings to the District play-offs at Forest Grove in '54. The last two years he has run at the left half position. Jerry has done his share in carrying the pigskin for Tillamook Catholic and we all hope he will do as well at Pendleton this August. Good Luck, jerry 'QW ai! ,bad WU? VU? gg: 'A wqw ,Hg wmv Gomg 1nto the season wrth more Splflt than experlence and materlal the Vrkrngs always fought hard to the end wrth many teams that were slated for the champronshlp berths Our XVIII column was rather barren but the mgredlent of experrence gamed for the other grrd t1lts was prrceless The bulk of the team sw as made up of under classmen, so the loss of four Hghtmg senrors, who all played xmportant rolls wxll not leave the team wlthout replacements Thls year the North Coast League teams rnaugurated a Hrst 1n that they held home and home games They also welcomed a new member to the gud non rn the blue and whrte of Star of the Sea The Wm loss record tells only a part of the story of any ball club If you could score for all the sweat, knocks, brurses, and fortrtude poured out by the red and wh1te "Norsemen", thls yearls war11o1s would rank exceptronally lugh rn the annual of our school You were tremendous, everyone of you Y ,, , r E 'N 'A5""- ' f M 'f -faf N-.-4, ,f ,.,..,.., M, . . ww?
