We, the 1984 yearbook staff, would like to be original by dedicating the yearbook to the student body. Although we have many to thank such as Mr. Coons and Mr. Dreimiller, without the students, there would be no need for a yearbook. The Seniors of 1984 will capture many fond memories of Ticonderoga High. We would like to thank Mrs. Cunningham and Ms. Menga for all of their help and support with the prom. Without you two, knowing us, we would have had our prom in July - if then! We the Seniors would also like to wish success to upcoming Yearbook Staff members. Have fun! The Junior class has had a lot of fun this year, a few wild times, and some good clean hell raising. The football season ended with a new trend. John Reale and Dan Decker showed their Sentinel spirit by getting Mohigan hair cuts. This has been a year of milestones in our lives. The class rings that we bought from Balfour will be kept always in remembrance of our good times at THS. Also the prom will hold some memories that won't soon be forgotten. This is our toughest year because of Regents Exams and important career decisions, but we still make time to play. Watch out next year THS, for the upcoming class of 1985. Row 1: L. R, S. We the graduating class of Nineteen hundred and eighty-seven are proud of our achievements and triumphant accomplishments during the 83-84 school year. Although we may be thought of as under-classmen, we have many extraordinary and remarkable athletes among us. The contributions made by the j.v. football, crosscountry, basketball, gymnastics sophomore athletes were outstanding. Our class as a whole will surely improve with each passing year until the day of graduation. Hopefully the faculty as well as the upperclassmen will support us and bear with us until the very end. These girls won the CVAC and Section VII title for the fourth yr. in a row. Every gymnast gave all she had and the team came out on top with a perfect season. 66 In 1983 the Ticonderoga Sentinels put together one of their most exciting and competitive seasons ever. Led by seniors Shelly Russell, Angie Strange, and Katy Laundree, the Sentinels proved throughout the season to be one of the toughest teams in the league. In the 1-0 victory over arch-rival Moriah, the Sentinels displayed all the skill and determination, which made them a strong team all season long. Shelly Russell provided the lone goal in the third quarter; and sophomore goal tender, Amy Huestis, had several key saves of point blank shots to preserve the victory. Sweeper, Sue Brown, keyed the defensive line which continually frustrated the Vikings' offensive line. Katy Laundree applied her usual pressure on defense along with aiding the front line tan-dom of Lisa Moses and Lisa Noel. The fourth quarter proved to be extremely physical and hot-tempered as the retaliating Vikings tried in vain to knot the score against Coach Tubb s victorious Sentinels. Row One: S. Gray, T. Although their record was deceptively unim-presive, as the season progressed the Sentinels proved a strong challenge for any team, the 1-1 tie versus NEC typified the performance of the young Sentinel team. Tim Denno provided the goal. Junior goal tender Matt Kolysko, with the help of the exceptional play of senior fullbacks Tim Strum and Chris Spaulding, turned in a superior deensive game, allowing the only goal in the final minutes of the second half. The Sentinels' hopes for victory were still alive in overtime as Jeff Kuhl scored on an assist from team captain Rudy Meola only to have the goal nullified due to a penalty. The game showcased the great determination and effort the Sentinels manifested throughout the entire season. The Sentinel team is looking to an even stronger season next year with halfbacks Todd Bilow, Doug Olcott, Sean Lobdell, and keeper Matt Koylsko. Art (Whitey) Belden and John (Ron) McDonald showed their aggressiveness and intensity throughout the season. Art dominated in defense and John displayed his outside shooting skills. In the guard spots Rick (Dervish) Trudeau showed the way with quick moves to the hoop, and Terry (Puffer) Brennan gave the team its leadership from his point guard position. Junior guards Craig (Robin) Saunders and Jack (Skeeter) Hills played and backed up the senior guards all year. Paul (Snowcone) McIntyre improved throughout the season and saw playing time in giving the front line a breather. John (Red) Hurlburt gave the Sentinels their spirit and a few bruises from his sharp elbows in the ribs. Rick (DHF) Liddell finally proved that he owned the outside corner jumper. Darin (Slick) Rathbun always dazzled us with his smooth moves in practice and key fould shots in the game. And finally, Mark (Sprout) Trudeau the sophomore of the team, provided backup in both guard and forward positions.
